We are people who were guided by curiosity and passion, and chose to be scientists.
We had to come to France in order to contribute to science on a cutting edge level.
By doing that, we are contributing to the presence of France in the global network of science.
For this work we do, we want to receive respect. We do not want to be treated as a burden for the administration, but as a gift due to the value we bring. Our residence in France is not a grace, but what we deserve.
However, it turns out, there are many layers between our value and the administrative work we face that the meaning fades away in the process. Many times we find ourselves begging for our basic rights in front of administrative offices, and many times we even fail to observe what our rights are.
Many of us live in precarious conditions, not knowing how to resolve issues with our residence, our legal needs. Our scientific work falls under the shadow of the bureaucratic worries. We try to perform scientific duties even in these conditions, but why not use our skills to their full potential? Why do everything under the stress of uncertainties for the future?
We have realised that our rights are not to be given by anyone else, but to be taken by us ourselves, and for that we need solidarity. At the minimum, we need to share knowledge, experience, resources. We need to first find out what our rights are, in order to actually use them.
Join us, if you are a student / researcher / science worker, or even if you are an individual with interest in science and technology. By being connected, we will solve problems better.
